The defeat snaps the Saints 20 game winning streak and concludes their season with an overall record of 29-12. The Warriors improved to 34-5 on the year and receive the WHAC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
Playing on their home court, Indiana Tech narrowly escaped set one as they defeated Aquinas 27-25. After a tough first set loss, the Saints showed the heart of a champion as they battled back toward the end of the second set to eventually win by the same 27-25 final. Following an emotional second set the Saints never could find their rhythm as the Warriors quickly won the third set 25-14. As the fourth set began and the Saints season hanging in the balance, Aquinas found the strength and courage to make one last run at the regular season champs. The Saints continued to execute, but it was not quite enough as Indiana Tech held on to win the fourth and decisive set 25-23.
The Saints offensive attack was led by Mollie Lounds, Jessica Curtis and Chelsea Phillips, who combined for 37 kills. Katie Vander Meer was credited with 40 assists and ten digs, while Sarah LeClair led the Saints in digs with 29.
