Women's XC Places 13th at Nationals

11/20/2010 – The women's cross country team earned the program's highest finish ever at the National Championships. The Saints, who were ranked 19th in the nation entering the race, showed great determination and poise en route to the 13th place finish. Aquinas along with 31 other schools competed on the muddy terrain at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.

Aquinas was led by the All-American performance of Rachael Steil (18:00), who placed 6th overall out of 331 competitors. Steil joins Leslie Irvin and Amanda Strouse as Aquinas' only All-Americans in cross country. Katy Cramer (19:11) concluded her cross country career by placing 80th overall. Alina Dhaseleer (19:25) and Sam Rinkus (19:29) placed 108th and 118th respectively for the Saints, while Alicia Boynton (19:46) rounding out the scoring for Aquinas in 158th place. Also competing for the Saints were Rachel Luehm (19:46 - 159th) and Megan Byrne (20:43 - 247th).

The women's team concludes the most successful season in the history of the program at Aquinas.
