02/06/2011 – The men's basketball team connected on 71% of their field goals to down UM Dearborn by the score of 103-74 at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center. The victory improves Aquinas' record to 10-16 on the season and 2-10 in the WHAC, while UM Dearborn slips to 8-18 overall and 4-9 in league play.
The Saints who have been in a season long shooting slump broke out in a big way as the Saints connected on 39 of 55 (.709) field goal attempts. The record setting day saw the Saints jump out to an early 33-10 advantage. The Saints continued to pound the ball inside for easy buckets. Aquinas eclipsed the 100 point plateau for the first time since early in 2005-2006 campaign.
The Saints dominated the game in all facets as Aquinas outshot UM Dearborn (71%-37%) and out rebounds the Wolves 41-30. Damacious White led four Saints in double digit scoring with 21 points. Matt Weiss (20 points), Zach Eddy (18 points) and Jamell Hatchett (15 points) also performed well for the Saints.
Aquinas will look to carry momentum into Wednesday's contest versus Siena Heights (12-13, 5-6) at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center at 7:30 p.m.
