Men's DMR Advances to Saturday's Final

03/03/2011 – The men's & women's track & field team began competition at the NAIA Indoor Championships today in Geneva, Ohio. The men's distance medley relay and senior Samantha Rinkus were in action for the Saints.

The men's DMR broke the school record they set three weeks ago by placing second in their heat in the preliminaries. The foursome of Grant Gunneson (3:10.2), B.J. Klotz (:49.2), Nick Thelen (1:54.9) and Dustin Heiler (4:07.4) recorded the third fastest time of the day (10:01.96). The Saints now advance to the finals which will be contested on Saturday.

Senior, Samantha Rinkus competed in the 5000M and placed 34th in a time of 19:06.

In Friday's action, Ryan Helminiak (High Jump), Emily Smith (20 lb. Weight Throw) and Charles Irmen (800M) will showcase their talents for the Saints.
