03/21/2011 – The men's tennis team defeated Indiana Wesleyan (9-0) and fell to Grand Valley State (4-5) over the weekend. Aquinas' record now stands at 13-2 on the season and the Saints are currently ranked 19th in the latest NAIA coaches poll.
The Saints made quick work of the Wildcats from Indiana Wesleyan on Friday as Aquinas swept the match 9-0. The loss drops IWU's record to 7-8 on the year. The Saints were once again led by the dynamic duo of Aaron Hendrick and Nik Artaev. The two freshman have been instrumental in Aquinas' early season success.
The following afternoon the Saints lost a heartbreaker to Grand Valley State. The Lakers defeated Aquinas by the count of 5-4 and improved their record to 7-8 on the season.
Aquinas will return to action on Wednesday as the Saints travel to Albion (0-5) to battle the Brits.
