05/06/2011 – The women's softball team, which is in the midst of the WHAC Tournament, was well represented on the 2011 All-WHAC Softball selections. Overall the Saints finished fifth in the WHAC and are currently sporting a 28-19 record.
The Saints were represented by Carlie Giarmo, Heidi Holmes and Renae Tubergen on the All-Conference Team. Giarmo, who struck out 100 batters, led the Saints with a 10-8 record and a 2.11 earned run average. Tubergen supplied the power in the Saints offense as she hit nine home runs and collected 38 RBI's. Holmes, who also was named to the All-WHAC Academic Team, led the Saints with a .388 batting average.
Joining Holmes on the All-Conference Academic Team was Whitney Hudson, Kristi Kuiphof, Kim Lohman and Taylor Turcott. Sophomore Lindsey Stewart garnered All-WHAC Honorable Mention accolades for her play, while Kim Lohman was Aquinas' representative on the Champions of Character Team.
