Aquinas Announces Co-Head Tennis Coaches

06/02/2011 – Alums Steve Greene and Jordan O'Neill have taken over the reigns of the women's tennis program at Aquinas College. The duo takes over for Gerry Adams, who resigned last month after nine seasons with the Saints.

Steve is a 1998 graduate of Aquinas College and was a dual major in Sports Management and Business Administration. Greene played on the Aquinas tennis team that twice qualified for the National Championships and earned WHAC MVP honors in 1998. Since graduating, Greene founded In The Zone Tennis that runs various camps and ten tennis tournaments every summer in the Grand Rapids area. Steve was the girls tennis coach at West Catholic High School from 1998-2001, and the boys coach from 2000-2001. Greene also served as the Aquinas College men's tennis assistant coach for three years from 1999-2001. Steve has also been the Head Tennis Pro at Riverview Athletic Club since 2007. When not on the tennis court, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife Emily and rarely misses a Chicago White Sox or Chicago Bulls game.

Jordan is a 2009 graduate of Aquinas College and received his Masters of Science in Communications from Grand Valley State this past year. O'Neill compiled over 100 victories at Aquinas College, including three wins at the NAIA Nationals in Mobile, Alabama. Jordan played number one singles during his senior season and competed at number one doubles during both his junior and senior campaigns. O'Neill has served as a tennis pro at Riverview Athletic Club since 2008 and was the assistant coach of the Grand Rapids Community College Women's team prior to being hired by his alma mater.
