Women's Cross Country - WHAC Champions

11/07/2011 – The women's cross county team claimed their third straight WHAC Championship at Riverside Park on Saturday afternoon. The Saints will now advance to the NAIA National Championships in Fort Vancouver, Washington in two weeks. Aquinas enters the championships ranked 18th in the last NAIA coaches poll.

The Saints were led by the All-WHAC performances of Catie Rietsema, Alina Dhaseleer, and Carly Plank. Rietsema (18:43) led the Saints with a second place finish, while Dhaseleer (18:59) and Plank (19:10) finished in fourth and seventh respectively. Seniors Emily Sandula and Megan Byrne had huge performances in their last meet at Riverside Park. Sandula and Byrne came off the course in eighth place and ninth place in a time of 19:16. Rachel Reyna (17th - 19:40) and Jackie Katt (19th - 19:54) rounded out the top seven for the Saints.
