Powers & Company Take Care of Siena

01/09/2012 – The men's basketball team moved into a third place tie in the WHAC with a convincing 74-53 victory over Siena Heights. The victory improved Aquinas' record to 8-10 overall and to 4-2 in league play, while Siena fell to 5-12 on the season and 2-4 in the conference.

Aquinas dominated the glass (50-27) and out shot Siena Heights 44%-30% to cruise to their fourth WHAC victory of the season. Joe Powers was instrumental in the Saints win as the senior scored 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists. Brett Pfahler and Ken Gordon chipped in with 16 and ten points respectively. The Saints extended a 13 point halftime lead to as many as 26 in the second half before finally closing out the Heights 74-53.

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Ann Arbor to battle Concordia (9-8, 5-2 WHAC).
