03/15/2012 – The women's lacrosse team defeated Calvin College 21-1 to open the home portion of their spring schedule. The victory improved the Saints record to 2-3 on the season, while the Knights drop to 0-3 on the year.
After a tough spring trip, the Saints were looking to get back to their championship form on their home field versus Calvin College. The game was tight to start with the Knights trying to slow down the tempo. The Saints began to flex there muscle midway through the half and took total control of the game. The Saints led 9-1 at the half and never looked back en route to the 21-1 victory.
The usual suspects, Hannah Brogger and Kati Rogers, led the attack for the Saints. Brogger recorded five goals, while Rogers notched three goals and three assists. Freshman Kenzie Klingenberg and Alexandra Burns both performed well in front of the Aquinas faithful for the first time. Klingenberg scored three goals and recorded an assist, while Burns found the back of the net three times.
The combination of Stockall and Gray combined to hold the Knights to one goal.
Aquinas will return to action on Thursday the 22nd with a home date versus Midland.
