WHAC Tennis Honors Announced

04/30/2012 – After successful spring seasons, the Aquinas tennis programs were honored with individuals on the All-Conference squads.

Headlining the list for the men was Aaron Hendrick. Hendrick was named the WHAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Aaron's doubles partner, Nik Artaev, also joined Hendrick on the WHAC's All-Conference team. The trio of Andrew Jary, Kyle Masteleer, and John Telfer were honored as Academic All-Conference, while Peter Tratt was named Aquinas' Champion of Character. Coach Hendrick was awarded the Coach of the Year award for leading the Saints to conference and regional titles.

Lauren Ramey was named to the All-Conference team for women's tennis. Ramey was consistent all season for the Saints as she played at top singles and the top flight of doubles. Emily Decker, Ashley Hendrick, and Jessica LeMire were honored for their work in the classroom as all three earned spots on the All-Academic squad. Hendrick was also named the Aquinas College representative on the Champions of Character team.

The men's team will now move on to the NAIA National Championships, while the women conclude their season that saw vast improvements and brings hopeful optimism for the future.
