05/24/2012 – Two members of the men's lacrosse team, James Burkhardt and Tyler Rosema, were honored with all-conference recognition this season.
James Burkhardt, a senior defenseman, was named 2nd team All-CCLA. A three-time captain and the physical and emotional leader of the defense, Burkhardt was routinely matched-up against the opponents top scorer. He finished second on the team with 70 groundballs and caused 20 turnovers. Few defensemen in the league can match Burkhardt's production on the offensive end, where he added three goals and five assists this season. Burkhardt was named honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore as well.
Tyler Rosema, a senior attackman from Grand Haven, was named 3rd team All-CCLA. The quarterback of the Saints' offense, Rosema set an Aquinas single season record with 30 assists. This total was good enough for 6th in the CCLA. Rosema added 43 groundballs and 20 goals. His 50 points placed him 16th in the CCLA in total points. Rosema concludes his Aquinas career as the programs all-time leader scorer with 124 career points.
