Burkhardt Named All-American

06/03/2012 – Capping off a great senior season, defenseman James Burkhardt (New Baltimore, De La Salle) has been named Honorable Mention All-American by the MCLA.

A three time captain, Burkhardt was the physical and emotional leader of the Saints' this season. Routinely matched up against the opponents top scorer, James was able to shut down a slew of All-Conference and All-American attackmen, often holding them well below their season
points averages.

A terror on the defensive end, Burkhardt scooped up 70 ground balls and caused over 20 turnovers this season. He also showed his skill with the ball in transition, dishing off five assists and scoring three goals.

James has been an integral part of the Saints' success, leading the team to two straight playoff appearances and a school record for wins this past season. His hard work on and off the field have been rewarded, becoming the first men's lacrosse player to be named All-American for Aquinas College.
