09/29/2012 – The women's soccer team was defeated by Indiana Tech by the score of 3-1 in the annual Homecoming soccer game. The Warriors improved to 2-0 in the league and to 10-2 overall, while the Saints slipped to 4-6 on the season and to 0-1 in the WHAC.
The Saints ignited the crowd early as Allison VanPatten scored off a corner kick by Mikayla Goldsmith during the third minute of play. VanPatten, who prepped at Kenowa Hills, netted her second goal of her career. Goldsmith now leads the team with five assists. Unfortunately the Saints offense would be stymied the remainder of the game. Three unassisted goals by Alex Field, Jess Stanton and Tori Singstock proved to be enough as the Warriors cruised to the 3-1 win.
Jordan Roell was the difference maker for Indiana Tech as she stopped 10 of 11 shots on goal. Molly O'Conner was credited with the loss for the Saints as she allowed three goals on ten attempts.
The Saints will now host Concordia (3-5-1, 0-0-1 WHAC) on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
