Saints Shutout UM Dearborn

10/13/2012 – The men's soccer team extended their winning streak to four matches as the Saints blanked UM Dearborn 3-0. The victory improved the Saints record to 10-3-1 on the season and to 5-1 in the WHAC, while the Wolves fell to 1-5 in the league and to 1-8 overall.

The usual suspects were up to their old tricks as the Saints offense was paced by Tyler Fischer and Casey Higgason. Fischer started the scoring during the 26th minute of play to give the Saints a 1-0 advantage. Chad Gordon was credited with the assist on Fischer's 15th goal of the season. Fischer notched his 16th early in the second half as Heath Somers set up the WHAC's leading scorer. Casey Higgason added his eighth score of the season during the 81st minute of play.

The Saints outshot the Wolves 22-9. Mike Sweers was credited with two saves in the shutout.

Aquinas will now host Concordia (6-7-2, 3-3-1 WHAC) on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
