10/16/2012 – The men's and women's bowling teams traveled down to Adrian to compete in the College's first ever bowling event. Siena Heights played host to the first ever WHAC Bowling Jamboree. The 2012-13 season represents the first year bowling is a full varsity championship sport within the WHAC. While a few schools have been playing as independents, the Saints come into the year as a fledgling program.
The teams bowl four head-to-head games and then had to bowl 16 baker games (five bowlers, bowl two frames each). The men's team came in sixth, while the women placed fifth overall. Megan Johnston led the women finishing the day in the top twenty, while Travis Hunt paced the men's team. "It was a big adjustment for all of them." stated Head Coach Frank Rogers. "The oil patterns are a lot harder at this level and the number of games can really wear you out. The squad got a taste of what it is like to compete at this level and know that we need to work on." added Coach Rogers.
The Saints will return to action the weekend of October 27th, when they travel to the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana.
