Dance/Cheer Enjoy Successful Nationals

04/17/2013 – The Dance & Cheerleading squads returned from their Nationals in Daytona Beach with a second and a seventh place finish.

The Aquinas College Dance Team ventured back to campus from the NDA/NCA College Nationals with a 2nd place finish. The Saints fell short of first place by a mere .19 points. The team competed in the NAIA Small Dance Division in the team dance category with a rain themed routine.

Coach Lara Webster commented, "I could not be more proud of my team this year and all their hard work. Winning regionals was a huge success and now coming home as the second best team in the NAIA Small Dance Division is beyond exciting. We are so proud not only to represent Aquinas College on a national stage, but to place so well."

The Aquinas Cheer Team placed seventh in the NAIA Small Coed Division. During the first day of competition the Saints placed second to qualify them for the finals. The following day Aquinas competed and earned seventh place overall.

The Nationals Championships are held in Daytona Beach, Florida every year. The preliminary competition was held Thursday, April 11 at Peabody Auditorium and the finals were held Friday, April 12 at the Ocean Center.
