03/26/13 – Alvaro Romero, a track & field athlete from Lima, Peru, was named the NAIA's National Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Romero won the long jump at the Al Owens Classic hosted by NCAA Division II Grand Valley State on April 20. Romero recorded the longest jump in the NAIA this outdoor season as he went 7.44 meters (24- ¾) to take first out of 25 athletes competing. His leap ranks him third on the all-time list at Aquinas.
Alvaro and his teammates will return to action with a home track meet at Houseman Field on Saturday starting at Noon.
