04/30/2013 – The duo of Emily Smith and Ryan Parminter were both recognized by the conference for their performances at the Ernie Mousseau Classic.
Smith a senior from Port Huron, ruled the throwing events at the meet held at Houseman Field. Emily won the discus with a NAIA-best throw of 50.13 meters and won the shot with a put of 12.33 meters. Smith also finished second in the hammer (49.75 meters) and was third in the javelin with a throw of 30.85 meters.
Parminter, a sophomore from Newaygo, picked up a pair of victories at the Ernie Mousseau Track & Field Classic. Ryan ran the second leg of the 4x100 relay (42.15) and finished the 200 meters in a winning time of 22.34.
Emily, Ryan and the rest of the Saints will return to action on Thursday for day one of competition at the WHAC Championships being contested at Houseman Field.
