Women's Golf Place 2nd at WHAC Championships

05/08/2013 – The women's golf team finished their season with a second place finish at the WHAC Championships. The championships were hosted by Aquinas College at Scott Lake Country Club over the last two days. Madonna claimed the team championship finishing 26 strokes in front of Aquinas.

The Saints were led by Kristina Raiz who shot a two day total of 163 (+19) to claim third place overall. Raiz was nine shots off the pace of meet medalist, Michelle Hall of Madonna who carded the best score (75) on the second day of the tournament. The Saints also received strong performances from Abby Hagan (8th place - 169 strokes) and Alicia Flood (9th place - 170 strokes). Rounding out the scoring for Aquinas was Valerie Muyskens (15th place - 177 strokes).

Both Christina Raiz and Abby Hagan were named to the All-WHAC first team, while Alicia Flood and Morgan Leep were named to the Honorable Mention squad. Elizabeth Couturier was named by Coach Dan Pupel as Aquinas' Champion of Character representative. The Saints were also recognized with four entries on the All-WHAC Academic Team. Abby Hagan, Anne Couturier, Kirstin Pike, and Elizabeth Couturier were honored by the WHAC for their work in the classroom.
