Sutton Named MCLA All-American

06/03/2013 – Defenseman Connor Sutton’s stellar play on the lacrosse field has earned him recognition as an All-American. The senior from Commerce Township, Michigan was named to the MCLA Honorable Mention All-American team.

Sutton, a team captain, helped lead a young Saints team qualify for the CCLA playoffs for the third consecutive year. He started all 16 games this season and recorded 51 groundballs. Routinely matched-up against the opponents’ top scorer, Sutton led the team with 37 caused turnovers. Sutton finishes his career as the all-time leader in games played (58) and games started (58) at Aquinas, and is 7th all-time in ground balls (133).

Sutton was also named 2nd team All-CCLA, honorable mention All-WHAC and WHAC All-Academic. He becomes the 2nd men’s lacrosse player to be named All-America.
