Head Cheerleading Coach
Coach Powell begins her seventh year as the head women's cheerleading coach after assisting the program for one year. Emma, a graduate of DeWitt High School, has been coaching cheerleading for 13 years in many different realms. Emma's experience includes stints as the head cheer coach at East Grand Rapids High School and head cheer coach at Forest Hills Northern High School. As well as coaching, Emma spent many years learning her craft as a cheerleader as a member of the cheerleading teams at DeWitt High School and Aquinas College. Emma graduated from Aquinas in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. Coach Powell is currently employed as a sales representative for Varsity Spirit Fashions, selling cheer and dance uniforms for all of Western Michigan. Coach Powell, along with her husband Rob, are parents of three year old Sammy and are expecting another child.
