Lara Webster begins her fourth year as the women's dance coach after participatins as a member on the team for four seasons. Lara, a Ludington High School graduate, spent many years teaching dance to middle school aged students. Along with coaching the Aquinas Dance team, she choreographs annually for a competition team in Ludington, MI. In May of 2007, she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sustainable Business. Along with coaching, she is employed by Pilgrim Manor Retirement Community where she serves as the Enviromental Stewardship Coordinator. aqdance@yahoo.com

Team Information:

  • Performs during the half-time of Men's and Women's basketball games.
  • Dance styles: Pom Pon, Jazz, Kickline, Hip Hop.

Frequently asked questions:

  • How many dancers do you take each season?

    There is not a specific number of dances each season. Each dancer is judged against a pre-determined score sheet based upon skills each season.

  • How often do you practice?

    On average, 2-3 times per week for 2 hours at a time.

  • What if I have never danced before?

    We encourage all interested to try out regardless of your dance history. We have had gymnasts, cheerleaders, and competitive dancers all on the team in previous years.

 

Try-out Information

Each spring and fall, there are clinics held for prospective dancers.

Day one: Learn 30 second jazz/pom pon routine and go over required skills.

Day two: Perform 30 second learned routine, skills and 30 second solo routine choreographed by prospective dancer.

2009 Sping try-out dates: Friday, April 24th 7-9:30pm and Saturday, April 25th 10am-noon
