Trash the Trash Can - A “Zero Waste” Event
The Aquinas College Center for Sustainability is helping us to make West Michigan Birdathon and Nature Festival a “zero waste” event. The industry term “zero waste” means that 90% of the waste will be diverted from the landfill and incinerator. In order to achieve this, 90% of all materials used must be composted or recycled. Volunteers will be on hand to help direct materials to the appropriate receptacle.
