Aquinas College students, faculty and some Grand Rapids Audubon Club members will be on hand to take participants on guided bird walks on the Aquinas College Campus.
Trash the Trash Can - A “Zero Waste” Event
The Aquinas College Center for Sustainability is helping us to make West Michigan Birdathon and Nature Festival a “zero waste” event. The industry term “zero waste” means that 90% of the waste will be diverted from the landfill and incinerator. In order to achieve this, 90% of all materials used must be composted or recycled. Volunteers will be on hand to help direct materials to the appropriate receptacle.
