CIS Classroom

The CIS Classroom is located in Hruby Hall and hosts 22 modern Compaq Pentium computers run on an integrated Windows network managed by several Microsoft Windows servers.

The classroom resides in the room which was once a chapel, with beautiful stain-glass windows and a high cathedral ceiling with indirect lighting.

Each computer has a removable boot drive which can be modified for use in networking classes, when each student has their own dual-booting versions of both a client operating system (such as Windows XP) and a corresponding server operating system.

All of the computers are connected to each other and the servers through high-speed Ethernet wires, and they are connected to the rest of the campus and to the Internet itself.

The instructor's station operates a new LinkSys software system which allows the instructor to manage either one or all of the computers for instructional purposes.

The room is also equipped with a modern audio-visual station by which any type of medium can be used during a class.

The classroom is available to all CIS major students any time, night or day.
