Quick Reference Guide Graphic Standards Manual

The Aquinas logos may be used for any College-sanctioned activity, provided that permission is first obtained from the College Relations Department. The intent of department approval is to ensure that the College's graphic identification elements are properly used. Deliberate misuse of any Aquinas-related identification elements will not be tolerated.

In order to maintain consistency in use of the College's graphic identity elements, a Graphic Identity Standards manual has been developed. This manual can be obtained directly from the College Relations Department. You may also download our Quick Reference Guide. These references provide specific guidelines for the proper use of the College's logos, fonts and colors. You many also download the complete Graphic Standards Manual for more descriptive branding information.

The logo type and variations presented here replace the College's tree logo and other symbols that have been used to identify the College in the past. The exception is the College Seal. It is to be used on official College documents, diplomas and other materials set forth by the College Relations Department.

If you have questions about any of the information presented on these pages, please contact logo@aquinas.edu.

Aquinas College branding will be greatly enhanced by using its logo typestyle within publications. For that reason, Berling Roman has been chosen as the standard (text) copy type for publications. If Berling is unavailable, Times New Roman is the suggested replacement. Captions, headings, sidebars, and highlighted materials may use supporting faces: Berling Italic. For accent, the typeface Frutiger, both black and bold may also be used. Certain times head-line copy can be typeset in Trajan. Limitation with Trajan is that it is a cap-only font (no lower case).

Note: Fonts can be purchased from many sources. To assure an exact match, coordinate all graphic communications through the College Relations Department.

Isolation Area
To prevent a cluttered look, maintain a comfortable white space around the general logo and “AQ” - styled logo sequal to the size of the capital “A” in Aquinas (see below). No graphic element – type, rule, line, art – should be allowed within this area.
