Computer Lab Locations
Aquinas has two main computer labs located on the third floor of the Academic Building. Additional satellite labs are available in areas such as the residence halls and Cook Carriage House.
 
Main Lab Locations
The Student Computer Lab located in AB 355 contains thirty-five 3.4 GHz Pentium computers with full multi-media capability including CD-RWs, headphone jack, microphone jack, and USB ports found on the front of the computer, sound cards, headsets for loan and a network-accessible laser printer. The Student Computer Lab is a Cell-Free Zone. You will be asked to take your calls in the hallway to avoid disturbing other students.
 

The CIS Classroom located in AB 315 contains twenty 3.4 GHz Pentium computers on a separte network with full multi-media capability including CD-RWs, headphone jack, microphone jack, and USB ports found on the front of the computer, sound cards and a network-accessible laser printer. This classroom is dedicated to the CIS curriculum.

Teaching Lab located in AB 319 contains twenty 3.4 GHz Pentium computers with full multi-media capability including CD-RWs, headphone jack, microphone jack, and USB ports found on the front of the computer, sound cards and a network-accessible laser printer. These machines provide an overflow lab for students during busy times and may be reserved by faculty. Lab reservations can be made by calling the Registrar's Office at extension 2866.

Grace Hauenstein Library Lab located in the Jarecki Center contains twenty 3.4 GHz Pentium computers along with a teaching lab that contains twenty-six computers. All computers found in the labs contain full multi-media capability including CD-RWs, headphone jack, microphone jack, and USB ports found on the front of the computer, sound cards and a network-accessible laser printer.

The Math Lab located in AB 322 contains sixteen 3.4 GHz Pentium computers with full multi-media capability including CD-RWs, headphone jack, microphone jack, and USB ports found on the front of the computer, sound cards and a network-accessible laser printer. Reservations for this lab can be made with the Math Department.

 

Remote Labs

 

The Albertus Hall GIS Lab has ten 3.4 GHz Pentium computers each. This lab is dedicated to curriculum and is presently not open for general use. Printers are available in this lab.

The Albertus Hall Physics Lab has eight 3.4 GHz Pentium computers each. This lab is dedicated to curriculum and are presently not open for general use. A printer is available in the front office.

The Piano Lab, located in the Art and Music Center, has nine 3.4 GHz Pentium PCs dedicated to music curriculum and is not open for general use.

There are four 3.4 GHz Pentium computers in Regina Hall , three in St. Joseph's Hall ,and two in Hruby Hall. Printing is not available in these labs, but can be done in AB 355, AB 315, AB 319 or the Library. These computers have full network access.

Cook Carriage House: The Campus Life office has both a wired and a wireless network to access the Aquinas College ION system for e-mail and Internet research within the Cook Carriage House Moose Cafe. Wireless laptops can be borrowed for use within the Cook Carriage House. Please see the Moose Cafe office for laptop information and check in/out procedures. Note that printing is not available in the Carriage House, but is available in the Library and Academic Building computer labs.

 
 
Additional Information
  • CD-R's are available from the Technology Assistant in AB 350 for $1.00 each.
  • CD-RW's are available from the Technology Assistant in AB 350 for $1.50 each.
  • ITS has two USB floppy drives that can be loaned out for use in AB 355.  In order to checkout one of these drives, an Aquinas picture ID will be required.
  • Faculty can arrange a Lab Tour for their students. ITS will give a tour to introduce students to the computer labs, the services offered, and instruct them on the acquisition of a network account. The tour lasts about twenty minutes and can be held during the regularly scheduled class time. Contact the Technology Help Desk at 632-2050 or email techhelp@aquinas.edu to make arrangements.
  • Laser printing is available for the students in AB 355 and the Library at a cost of $0.10 per page, paid to the Technology Assistant on duty.
  • ATTENTION ALL LAB USERS -All printing in ITS labs must be paid for using funds on your Aquinas Student ID. Printing fees are only payable with debit funds on Aquinas ID cards at 10¢ per page. To print in the AB350, students need an Aquinas ID card with funds available in AQ Cash or Bookstore Voucher. ID cards are available from Campus Safety. To add funds on your ID card, go to the Food Service office in the Wege Center at the Cafeteria level or Student Accounts in Hruby Hall.
