Technology Council

The Technology Council was instituted in the fall of 1997. To assist in bringing the College's Web presence into updated institutional branding policies, the Web Advisory Committee was created as a sub-committee of the Technology Council. In the fall of 2007, this committee was dissolved and its members brought on board the Technology Council.

Members of the Aquinas faculty and staff serve on the Technology Council as representatives of various divisions and departments to address the goals of the Technology Council. Minutes of the meetings are posted at h:\tc (on-campus only) on the Aquinas network. Major campus-wide projects take place during the summer, beginning in May.

Goals Technology Needs

Goals
The goals of the Technology Council are:
    1. To keep the core pedagogical mission of the institution at the center of technology plans.
    2. To facilitate operational efficiency of the College through the most appropriate integrated technology solutions.
    3. To support and enable communication and marketing goals through central technology systems.
    4. To represent all needs in central technology planning, engaging the broader community of users to identify needs and potential solutions for the benefit of the entire College.
    5. To create a College-wide understanding of and support for the overall technology environment and security needs of the College as the foundation for new technologies.
    6. To prioritize technology needs in support of the Strategic Plan.

Top College-Wide Technology Needs
The Technology Council identified the following top college-wide technologies and recommended them as priorities. They serve as ground work for advanced technology initiatives in the College’s Business Plan. To this end, the time line calls for these projects to be accomplished as soon as possible while following a thorough and systematic planning and implementation process.
