Aquinas College Celebrates Veterans Week

The Relics and Artifacts of the Greatest Generation: World War II Revisited

Friday, November 9

Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Location: John F. Donnelly Center, Upper Level

Free and open to the public. Groups welcome.

Memorabilia from all branches of the United States Armed Forces will be displayed. This exhibit will also feature Michigan’s contribution, including the famed Red Arrow Division and the U.S. Army Ski Troops. Items will come from the private collections of collector historians who will be available to answer questions about each piece or answer other needs for information. The exhibit will be free and open to the public. Groups are welcome. Please share this information with anyone who may be interested. Parking will be available in the Donnelly Center Lot (Lot S), the Woodward Lot (Lot T), and in the Browne Center Lot (Lot Q). >Campus Parking Map (pdf)

Location: Academic Building and Grace Hauenstein Library Lobbies (while supplies last)

Veteran’s Day Concert with the College Band and Chamber Strings
Sunday, November 11

Time: 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Kretschmer Recital Hall, Art & Music Center
Come and enjoy stirring music that will include the patriotic and poignant compositions from early traditions to the present day. Donations of canned or dry good will be accepted on behalf of a local Food Pantry. Reception to follow. Free and open to the public.

Donations with Thanks: Clothing drive benefiting the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans

Monday - Friday, November 5 - 9

Donate any new or gently used clothing items, especially coats, sweaters and sweatshirts. Red barrel drop sites at the entrances of the Academic Building, Jarecki/Laks/Hauenstein Building, the Moose Café and during the WWII exhibit.

Thank you cards will be available all week for you to sign in the following locations: Academic Building Lobby, Grace Hauenstein Library Lobby, Moose Cafe
