| Carol
A. Winkle, Ph.D. earned her B.A. from Michigan State
University in 1969. She taught in public schools in grades 1-4
and 6-8 over a period of 12 years. During three years of that
time, she served as a Title I Director. She earned her M.A.
in educational psychology with specialization in child and adolescent
growth and development in 1973 from Michigan State University.
She earned her Ph.D. in social-philosophical foundations and
was a part-time instructor at MSU. From 1990-1993, Dr. Winkle
served as the Director of the Student Support Services Program
at Aquinas College. She became a faculty member of the Aquinas
College Education Department in 1993. Her responsibilities first
included coordinating the Introduction to Education courses.
Dr. Winkle currently teaches History of Modern Education. She
also enjoys traveling with her family. |

| Research |
- Currently researching on retention of teachers in the profession during the first 3-5 years of service as Tim Bennett and I develop and implement the STAY Program for the School of Education in an attempt to support our graduates in the first few years of their teaching careers.

| Presentations |
- “The Road to a Job in the Next Three Years.” Presented at the Fire-Up! Conference, Fall of 2007, sponsored by ITEC-WM. Discussed the use of multiple intelligences as related to interests which can then be turned into problem solving techniques
- Presented at Grand Rapids Community College in November of 2007 on the topic of e-portfolios and portfolio assessment in general.
