New
candidates may not be accepted for the HPER (MX) endorsement
after summer semester 2005. Teacher candidates currently in
the Health, PE & Recreation (MX) program, or beginning
the MX program before the close of summer semester of 2005,
must complete the MX program before the close of the summer
semester of 2009. All education requirements, including Directed
Student Teaching, must be successfully completed by the spring
semester of 2009. The final Michigan Test for Teacher Certification
(MTTC) for the Health, Physical Education and Recreation will
be offered during July of 2010.
Due to the short notice given us by the Michigan Department
of Education, it is imperative that students currently pursuing
this endorsement make an appointment immediately with an Education
Advisor in the School of Education. Contact the Aquinas College
School of Education office (ext. 2800) or the Health, PE &
Recreation Department (ext. 2898) for information regarding
a new program alternative to this endorsement. |
