The Science of Happy - Thursday, Feb. 18, 7:00 p.m. @ Wege Ballroom

Do you ever wonder what makes us happy? What doesn't make us happy? Why some people are happier than others? Why happiness matters in the workplace and at home? There is a growing body of significant research on who is happy and why. In this presentation, Tim takes you though some of the findings that many have found to be surprising, unexpected, and compelling! Come and discover the FIVE key components to happiness. SOE Portfolio Workshop - Saturday, March 20, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Education students are invited to attend an open-lab workshop on Saturday, March 20between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the Grace Hauenstein Library computer lab. A presentation will be given between 9:15 and 9:45 illustrating the options students have for organizing and displaying their student teaching exit portfolios, including Zunal, LiveText, Google Sites, or Word documents with hyperlinks. Basic Skills Tests
Since the Michigan Basic Skills Test (MBST) is only offered 5 times a year, the School of Education offers an additional testing option to enable students to register for education classes.  Students wishing to take education coursework requiring passing test scores and who will not receive the MBST scores in time to register for upcoming courses have the opportunity to take the AQ Skills Test.  Contact the School of Education at (616) 632-2800 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
