M.A.T. Concentrations and Endorsements

 
M.A.T. graduate students may choose from one of the following concentrations or endorsements:
 
Bilingual Spanish (YF) Endorsement Language Arts K-8 Endorsement
Early Childhood (ZA) Endorsement Learning Disabilities K-12 Endorsement
Educational Technology (NP) Endorsement Reading - Elementary (BT) Endorsement
Elementary Education Concentration Reading - Secondary (BT) Endorsement
Elementary Education Endorsement Reading Specialist (BR) Endorsement
English as a Second Language K-12 Endorsement Secondary Education Concentration
Integrated Science - Elementary (DI) Secondary Education Endorsement
 
A concentration is designed for students who are already endorsed in the area of choice. An endorsement is designed for students who would like to add a certification endorsement to their Michigan teaching license. In addition to the necessary coursework, the Michigan Department of Education requires a candidate to take and pass the corresponding subject area test before an endorsement can be added to an existing teaching certificate.
