The Learning Disabilities Endorsement is designed for the general classroom teacher. The M.A.T. with Learning Disabilities Endorsement requires a minimum of 37 credit hours. Pursuing ONLY the Learning Disabilities Endorsement requires a minimum of 31 credit hours (courses with asterisk *).

Foundational Core Courses: 9 credit hours

EN 510 Research Methods, Design and Analysis (3 credit hours); 2nd to last class

EN 690 Master Teaching Project (3 credit hours); last class

Learning Disabilities Requirements: 28 credit hours

EN 561 Assessing Student Learning (3 credit hours)*

EN 562 Special Education Curriculum and Methods (3 credit hours)* Prerequisite: EN 579

EN 564 Learning Disabilities: Theory to Practice (3 credit hours)* Prerequisite: EN 579

EN 566 Classroom Management (3 credit hours)*

EN 579 Inclusion I (3 credit hours)*

EN 596 School and Culture in the 21st Century (3 credit hours)*

EN 610 Inquiry-Based Literacy and Differentiated Instruction (3 credit hours)*

NOTE: EN 610 should be taken as part of the first 18 hours of this planned program in order to qualify for Professional Certification

EN 665 Inclusion II (3 credit hours)* Prerequisite: EN 579

EN 568 Elementary Practicum in LD OR EN 569 Secondary Practicum in LD (4 credit hours)*

Practicum prerequisite: All other required LD coursework must be completed. Student must contact LD program director to arrange practicum.
