VFW POST 5855 (Portage, MI)
Scholarships are available to students who are combat veterans, and been awarded a campaign medal or expeditionary medal. Applicants must be attending a university, college or trade school in the state of Michigan, have a GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (If no post-secondary GPA has been established then high school GPA will be used), have a copy of their DD214, must be a Michigan resident, and be a current member of a veterans service organization (VSO). GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

JAN EGERTON & DON SMITLEY MESOTHELIOMA SCHOLARSHIP
MesotheliomaHelp.org is hosting its third $10,000 annual scholarship essay contest. (10) different award amounts are granted to deserving students throughout the U.S. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist with educational efforts, as well as raise awareness for Mesothelioma (caused from exposure to asbestos), and its effects. The essay contest is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are 18 years-old and are currently enrolled in a college or university located within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (U.S. territories are excluded). Due to the popularity of social media and the ability to reach a wide number of people to educate them about mesothelioma, this year's contest will include a public voting aspect. THE GALLERY COLLECTION SCHOLARSHIP
One $10,000 scholarship is available to all high school, college and university students enrolled at any time during the latter half of 2014 in an academic program designed to conclude with the awarding of a diploma, or a degree.
