Campus Dining Philosophy

 
We take pride in the food we serve. Our chefs believe that whole foods with superior quality make the best product for our guests. We are committed to using the best products for our bodies and the planet. We will accomplish this by:
  • Purchasing only hormone-free dairy products from Prairie Farms in Battle Creek, Mich.
  • Using trans fat free oils, non-GMO soy oil purchased from a green facility, Zoye, in Zeeland, Mich.
  • Never adding MSG in our products.
  • Preparing sauces, soups and stocks from scratch, resulting in a lower sodium product.
  • Using USDA Organic Herbs from Michigan Fine Herbs, Shelbyville MI in our dishes.
  • Offering a variety of vegan and vegetarian options.
  • Offering a sensible portion of animal protein.
  • Using cream and butter sparingly in order to keep fat content as low as possible.
  • Offering whole grain options for breads and cereals.
  • Serving non-GMO Silk Soy products.
  • Purchase all Michigan apples and cider from Engelsma Farms in Hudsonville, Mich.
  • Purchase Certified Fair Trade coffee for The Moose and The Corner from Ferris Nut, Grand Rapids, Mich.
  • Purchase Michigan in-season vegetables-asparagus, corn, potatoes, blueberries, cherries, apples, zucchini.
  • Utilize Kosher sea salt in cooking resulting in a lower sodium product.
  • All natural, hormone free chicken products
