Scholarship Audition Instructions

Note: Scholarship auditions will not be scheduled until your application has been received. >Apply Online

All scholarship applications and written teacher recommendation must be postmarked, emailed or hand delivered to the AMC Main Office by Saturday, March 15, 2014. If you are unable to travel to Aquinas College for a live scholarship audition, a DVD or MP3 audition must be postmarked, emailed or hand delivered to the AMC Main Office by Monday, March 31, 2014.

To prepare for your music department scholarship audition, you should:
  1. Be ready to present two pieces of contrasting styles or eras. (If you are a vocalist, try to have one Art Song or Sacred Song in English, and a second piece either from Musical Theater a Foreign Language Art Song, or another song in English.) Select music that will demonstrate the breadth of your ability and that you are comfortable with. Your performance time will be five to eight minutes in length.
  2. Have time at your audition to meet and speak with the Aquinas College Music Department faculty in Kretschmer Recital Hall.
  3. Be sure that your Aquinas College application is in, and that the Music Dept. has received both your music scholarship application and your teacher recommendation form(s).
  4. Contact the Art and Music Center Administrative Assistant, Betsey Ingraham, at (616) 632-2413 or betsey.ingraham@aquinas.edu to select your audition date and time.
  5. Mail or fax the sheet music for the staff accompanist to the Music Department at least two weeks in advance of your audition, so that it can be prepared for your audition date. Mail to:
