The Nursing Mentoring Program
Nursing Mentoring Program

The nursing mentoring program at Aquinas was designed for freshmen and sophomore nursing students to be paired up with an upperclassman nursing students who will be their "nursing buddy." This partnership will provide these students with opportunities to network, share ideas, and information, and to receive support as they progress through the nursing program.

Service Learning Trips

Service Learning

Nursing students at Aquinas are encouraged to participate in service learning trips offered through campus ministry. For example, students are able to spend their spring break working in medical clinics in the Dominican Republic, or help out at the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Peru. These trips engage students in civic responsibility, critical thinking, and structured reflection by actively involving them in organized community service. This, in turn, prepares students for a lifetime of personal growth and social responsibility.

AQ service-learning trips allow students to put their faith into action and practice the Dominican charisms of prayer, study, community and service.
