Summer 2008 Housing Information

On-campus accomodations will be available this summer for Aquinas students studying or working on or near Aquinas College. Students from other institutions who are studying or working an internship in Grand Rapids are also elegible to live at AQ for the summer session.

Construction Underway on New Student Apartments

Beginning in the fall of 2008, 64 of Aquinas' juniors and seniors will reside in a new apartment style residence on the east side of campus. The new building will feature individual bedrooms for students as part of the 4-person and 2-person apartments. Aquinas College has partnered with Design+ and Rockford Construction to seek LEED certification for the new building. A student art competition will be held in the spring, with winning pieces to go on permanent display in the entrance and other shared spaces of the new student living center.

RHA Exam Pack Profits Shared with St. John's Home
At the January 26, 2008 meeting of the RHA (Residential Housing Association), a check for $1,417.30 was presented to the St. John's Home. St. John's Home is a nationally recognized residential shelter and treatment center for chidren and teens, located in Grand Rapids. The donation represents half of the profits from the annual Exam Pack sales. Unlike many other colleges and universities who outsource this type of event to a professional fundraising firm, the RHA members market and produce our own exam packs, with the assistance of Creative Dining Services and the Residence Life Office.
 
Team Aquinas Rocked the Forest Hills RELAY for LIFE
Over two dozen students, faculty, staff, and friends represented Aquinas June 8 and 9 at the Forest Hills Relay for Life. The "Tommies Garage" group exceeded our $3,000 fundraising goal to support the American Cancer Society, and the event generated over $76,000! Click here to see the crew of the Friday afternoon shift. Club Night 7 a Huge Success
Over 200 students showed up for our seventh take-over of East Hills Athletic Club on February 23, 2007. Click here for a link to the photos of you and your friends on the tennis courts, in the lounge, playing basketball or volleyball, doing DDR, and everything else. This event was sponsored by RHA and RHCs, and organized by AQRAAD - promoting healthy lifestyles at Aquinas.
