| AQ Blogging/Social Media Guidelines |
| Aquinas College supports and encourages the use of blogs and social media* by College departments/programs. |
| |
| Users must recognize that: |
- All information posted on a College department/program blog and/or social media site must: be in compliance with the College's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and all other College policies, follow acceptable social behaviors and comply with federal and state regulations.
- College department/program blogs and social media websites/pages created in the College's name are representatives of Aquinas College and therefore subject to the guidelines, policies and branding of the College.
- College Representatives can and do monitor these websites regularly.

| When considering creating a College department/program blog and/or Twitter site, users are asked to contact ITS for assistance in setting up the page to match the look and feel of the College's branding and website. |

| *Social networking sites include, but are not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, MySpace, etc. |

| How to Submit Tweets for AQ's Twitter Page |
- Per Twitter, tweets must be 140 characters or less including spaces.
- Tweets should be submitted via e-mail to social@aquinas.edu at least 24 hours prior to desired posting date.
- If you have an AQ ELM account, you can submit tweets through our intranet form. >Submit a tweet
- The requester will be contacted if a tweet is deemed inappropriate for posting.
- Twitter requests will not be accepted via phone mail messages.

| How to Create Videos for AQ's YouTube Channel/Website |
| Departments/programs wishing to create videos for the AQ website and/or distribution via the AQ YouTube channel should follow the steps below: |

- Visit the Media Center in the Library and meet with the Instructional Technology Coordinator.
- Check out a video camera and pick up video releases.*
- Record your video.
- Return the video camera and completed video releases to the Media Center Staff. They will assist you in removing the video files from the camera and accessing film editing software.
- Edit your video.
- Once your video is complete, submit it to the Instructional Technology Coordinator.
- The Instructional Technology Coordinator will review the video for content (copyright issues, inappropriate content, etc.) and format the video for YouTube/web use.
- Once the video has been approved and formatted, the Instructional Technology Coordinator will forward it to the Web Content Coordinator for uploading to YouTube. If appropriate, the Web Content Coordinator will also embed the video on the AQ web site.

| *Note: You may use your own equipment, but will still need to complete and submit video releases for your project. If using your own video recording/editing equipment, skip to step 6. |
