We hold placement testing for math and foreign language at Aquinas. However, there is no expectation that you will prepare for your foreign language placement test or your math placement test. Both tests simply indicate the level that you should begin your study in these areas. However, placing high on the foreign language test may allow you to waive one or two courses for the general education requirement. If you choose to review your foreign language skills prior to taking the test, please feel free to do so.
If you have never taken a foreign language, or for some reason wish to start at the basic level of a foreign language, you do not have to take the foreign language placement test. Simply let the Foreign Language Proctor know your wishes when you meet with him or her. We offer placement tests in Spanish, French, German, and Latin.
UDM Nursing Students: You are not required to take a foreign language; therefore, you will not need to take the foreign language placement test unless you choose to continue study in a foreign language. You will be required to take a math placement test.
After lunch there is an optional technology placement test for Aquinas students. There is a $15 charge to take this test. By taking this exam, you have the opportunity to test out of 1-3 of the Technology Gen-ed requirements. Note: Certain majors require mastery of these technology courses and may require you to take the classes anyway.
UDM Nursing Students: You will be required to take a chemistry placement test after lunch.
