GET is year- long after-school leadership program that addresses the related fields of educational success, civic engagement, leadership, self-empowerment, and discrimination among socially and economically at-risk 9-12th grade high school girls from a local public school. GET is sponsored by the Jane Hibbard Idema Women’s Studies Center, and directed by Susan Haworth-Hoeppner, Ph.D., who is also the director of the JHI Women’s Studies Center and department Chair of Women’s Studies.
With the direction of Dr. Haworth-Hoeppner, students of Aquinas College work as mentors for the young women enrolled in the GET Program. |
