Alumni at Aquinas College

AALC Expectations

In coordination with the Department of Advancement, the Alumni Association Leadership Council (AALC) assists with a number of alumni and student programs and services, such as events, alumni awards, student and alumni mentoring programs, enrollment activities and more. 

The AALC is a 28-member council with five officers on the executive committee and 23 members. Each member serves on a working committee. 

2020-2021 Board Committees

The board has six standing committees.

  • Enrollment Committee
  • Events Committee
  • Service Committee
  • Professional Development Committee
  • Alumni Leadership Committee

The committees are subject to change based on the interests of its members and needs of the College.

Council Expectations

  • Attend all AALC meetings. The AALC meets quarterly at Aquinas College with the option to attend via Zoom.
  • Serve on at least one committee, actively participate and follow through.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the college, and help raise the visibility of the alumni association and its programs and services by being present, whenever possible, at College and association activities.
  • Support the College financially to the best of your ability, making Aquinas College a personal philanthropic priority.
  • Pay all travel expenses associated with meeting attendance. Meals while on campus for association meetings will be covered.

Time Commitment

  • Members are expected to attend quarterly meetings on campus or via Zoom. Full sessions are typically two hours.
  • Much of the work of the council will be done in committee between meetings. Depending on the committee projects and goals, expect to spend a minimum 2-4 hours per month on association business.
  • Committee chairs and executive officers may expect to spend additional hours per month on association business.
  • Attendance at a minimum of three alumni events per year is expected.

Membership

All Aquinas College alums are members of the Alumni Association. We are not a dues paying organization.
