Digital Badge

Aquinas College is again providing students an opportunity to hone specific skills that are deemed very important to employers in hiring recent college graduates. The successful pilot program launched in Spring 2018 and will continue in Spring 2019. Students will apply and be invited to participate. A limited number of spots in the program are available. 


  • Connection with area employers.
  • Opportunity to build critical thinking skills through a series of readings and exercises.
  • Upon successful completion, a Digital Badge that can be utilized in social media profiles, such as LinkedIn, and in e-portfolios.
  • Flexibility: although there are some required components, the majority of work is completed within the students’ schedules.
  • Substantive answer when asked in an interview, “Tell me about a time when you used critical thinking skills to solve a problem”.


  • A mandatory orientation on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 12 - 2pm 
  • Approximately 45 total hours (3-4 hours per week over the 12 week program) of hands-on work.
  • Access and use of Aquinas email and Course Connect pages.
  • Sophomore or higher class standing.
  • All majors welcome. No previous work/internship experience needed.
  • Enthusiastic students with an open mind!

Application Process

  • Complete the application form by January 18. 
  • Attend the mandatory orientation on January 30, 2018, from 12 - 2pm
