Year: Senior
Program: London

Email: fcb001@aquinas.edu

I chose to study abroad because in about 3rd grade my best friend and I decided we were going to go to college in London. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, but when I saw that I had the opportunity to spend a semester in London and make that dream come true, I knew I had to do it! I would say that the way London changed my life is it made me really realize how big the world is and how much I want to explore it. It made it realize that the world is my oyster and I can literally do anything with it!

Year: Senior
Program: Japan

I am a fourth-year at Aquinas College and am overjoyed to have had the opportunity to study abroad in Japan during the 2020 spring semester. It was an amazing and challenging experience, full of growth, and cross-cultural learning. I dreamed of studying abroad in Japan for years, and this experience was beyond anything I could have wished for. Both the Japanese language and culture are the opposite of American language and culture, and so learning to communicate with others in a different way is a big part of the Japan program. Even though I’m majoring in biology, the study of the Japanese language and culture has taken up a huge part of my life and soul. I am happy to share my passion with other students wishing to go to Japan as a Global Ambassador!

When I studied abroad in Rome, my dreams became a reality. Rome has been on my bucket list for a very long time and I am so thankful that I was able to study there for a whole semester. Living right next to St. Peters as well as seeing Pope Francis was a blessing. There was an ever so present sense of family when in Italy. The people in Italy were so friendly and made you feel like you were at home. I am honored to be the Global Ambassador for the Italy program and hope to encourage more students to be a part of this life-changing experience!

Madison Creech
Year:
Senior
Program: France

Learning French has been a big part of my academic journey, so it only seemed natural for me to study abroad during my time at Aquinas. Even though my time abroad was cut short by COVID-19, it was one of the most amazing and fulfilling experiences I’ve had. Being immersed in the French language and culture not only helped improve my French skills but also allowed me to gain more independence and an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. I’m thrilled to share my experience and knowledge with those wishing to embark on the same journey!

Ever since I started learning Spanish, I had dreamed of one day traveling to Spain. When the opportunity to study abroad presented itself, I couldn’t pass it up. During my semester in Salamanca, I was able to practice my Spanish skills, make new friends from around the world, travel to new places, and gain more independence. I had many unforgettable experiences during my time abroad, and am excited to be a resource for others to do the same.
