Clothing

• Bring comfortable, washable and durable clothing
• Take enough clothes for 10 days. Host families do laundry regularly. Cottages come with washer
• Avoid “what ifs” and pack practically
• Remember there are stores in your host country
• Leave space in your suitcase to bring back things
• Research the weather of your host country
• Take limited number of shoes. Bring walking shoes
• Do not bring anything you can’t afford to lose
• Bring electric converters for Europe, Costa Rica should bring three prong plugs
• Review the student handbook for more suggestions

Baggage Allowances

• Depending on the airline, student are allowed to bring 2 suitcases (50-70lbs). Students will be advised of their flight regulations before departure
• Students are allowed one personal item and carry on

Helpful tips

• Purchase distinguishable luggage -pack liquids in your checked luggage in ziplock bags in case of spillage
• Label inside and outside of luggage with contact information
• Try rolling your clothes, you can use space more efficiently
