Lakeland Health recently named Melinda Gruber, Ph.D., '91, as Vice President of Continued Care Services. Dr. Gruber will oversee operations at Caring Circle as well as Lakeland at Home services.

Gruber graduated from Aquinas College with a business administration degree and went on to earn a master's degree in business administration and a doctorate degree in education leadership from Western Michigan University.

A member of the Hospice at Home team since 2006, Graham was most recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Caring Circle, a Lakeland Health Affiliate. In this role she was responsible for overseeing Hospice at Home, palliative care, HouseCalls, Transitions, advance healthcare planning, and bereavement services, including Lory’s Place. She has nearly 16 years of experience in operations, fund development, strategic planning, marketing, and business development for non-for-profit organizations.

“I am honored and excited to be expanding my role to include continued care services,” said Dr. Gruber. “I look forward to aligning teams who will help provide those we serve with access to the best quality of life outside of the hospital.”

She currently serves as Vice Chair and section leader of the Development/Public Relations/Marketing Steering Committee for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. In addition, she serves as Vice Chair of the Healthy Berrien Consortium, a board member for PACE of Southwest Michigan and Area Agency on Aging, and chairperson of the Berrien County Cancer Service board.
