Biography

Alex joined the Aquinas community in 2022 and currently serves as the Office Coordinator for the Advantage Center. She graduated from Calvin University in 2018 with degrees in Biology and Philosophy, and later obtained a Masters of Science in Early Human Prehistory from the University of York, England in 2021. As a self-appointed nerd on the intersection of animal behavior, domestication and history with people, Alex completed her dissertation work on the canid domestication and the possible functions of early dogs in prehistoric human societies. She also is a Certified Feline Training and Behavior Specialist through the Animal Behavior Institute, and is more than eager to discuss all things cats (especially her own) anytime! In her spare time, Alex enjoys reading, writing and spending time with her husband, Josh, and their two cats, Starbucks and Shoresy.
