Geography & Environmental Studies at Aquinas College

Student Honor Society

Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), an international honor society in geography, was founded in 1928. Members of GTU share an interest in geography, and have met a set of academic requirements. Aquinas' Delta Pi chapter of GTU plans several activities throughout the year to support geography knowledge and awareness.

Two students were inducted into the Delta Pi GTU chapter this year: Sara Boersma and Elizabeth Waltzoni. Elizabeth was unable to attend our celebration at Spoonlickers. Arbor Week Event: In April, GTU and the Geography Club worked with the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks to plant trees in Roosevelt Park. It was a great opportunity to get out in the fresh air and nudge the City of Grand Rapids closer to its goal of 40% tree canopy cover.
