Community Wellness
Community wellness is exhibited through someone who contributes to their community as well as improves personal relationships. This dimension encourages everyone to take an active part in improving the community by supporting a healthy living environment and initiating better interactions with others. This includes using good communication skills, having deep and meaningful relationships, respecting oneself and others, and creating a support system that includes family members and friends.
Ways to enhance this dimension:
- Learn about and practice inclusiveness
- Determine your personal responsibility with regard to those around you
- Learn about and practice social justice
- Take on a leadership role
- Get involved in your local community
- Use your skills and talents to serve others
Are you engaged in practicing community wellness?
- Do I plan time to be with my family and friends?
- Do I enjoy the time I spend with others?
- Are my relationships with others positive and rewarding?
- Do I explore diversity by interacting with people of other cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs?
- Am I am able to ask for help when I need it?
If you answered "no" to any of the questions, it may indicate an area where you need to improve the state of your community wellness.
